Campo de Borja, Spain – 100% Garnacha
Aromas of blackberries, black tea and sweet blueberries lead into peppercorn spice, with a medium body and layers of fruit that carry through to a juicy, direct finish. Smooth and generous on the palate, this is Garnacha in its purest, most true-to-variety form.
It's a natural match for grilled vegetables, and it holds up beautifully to spicy or Asian-inspired dishes too. Try it with grilled sausage, roasted red peppers, or anything off the barbecue that could use a juicy, peppery red alongside it.
The fruit comes from old bush vines in the mountainous municipality of Ainzón, farmed under what the winemaker calls "extreme viticulture" in the foothills of the ancient Moncayo volcano. It's fermented and matured in concrete rather than oak, letting the fruit and terroir speak for themselves without any added wood influence.
