Vine Styles Return & Exchange Policy

We want you to love what's in your glass. However, due to AGLC (Alberta Gaming, Liquor & Cannabis) regulations, our ability to accept returns is strictly governed by provincial guidelines. Please read our policy carefully.

Eligibility We accept exchanges on products that are confirmed to be defective. Returns or exchanges will not be accepted simply because a product was not to your taste or preference. All exchange requests must be made within 30 days of the date of purchase. Vine Styles reserves the right to assess and determine whether a product is considered defective.

Conditions for Exchange To be eligible for an exchange, your item must meet all of the following conditions:

  • The product must be defective (see definitions below)
  • The bottle must be at least 3/4 full
  • You must provide proof of purchase (printed itemized receipt or POS lookup)
  • Wines over 7 years of age are not eligible for exchange
  • Exchanges must be completed in-store so we can inspect the product

What Makes a Product Defective? Faulty liquor products are those which:

  • Have foreign material in the bottle
  • Are not fully filled (short-filled bottles)
  • Have a damaged cork or cap
  • Have part of the product missing from a sealed case

Wines with the following faults are also eligible for exchange:

  • Cork Taint: An unattractive mouldy or wet cardboard smell
  • Oxidation: Wine that has prematurely browned in colour with loss of fruit and a vinegary smell
  • Volatile Acidity: A pungent smell of nail varnish and/or vinegar
  • Reduction: Sulphur-like odours ranging from onion to rotten eggs (Note: this can sometimes resolve by allowing the wine to decant)
  • Light Strike: Odours resembling dirty drains

Exchanges We offer exchanges only — no monetary refunds will be issued on product purchases. The fastest way to get what you want is to bring the item in-store, and once the exchange is approved, select a replacement product. We contact you once we've inspected your return and will let you know whether the exchange has been approved.

Wine Club Members If you are a Wine Club member and receive a defective wine, we will offer a straight exchange if a replacement is available in stock. If the wine is no longer in stock, we will hold the bottle for Nathalie, who will arrange an exchange based on the Wine Club pricing of that particular item.

Please note: Smart Buys Wine Club and Seasonal Rendez-vous members will not receive an immediate exchange. We will contact you when an alternative wine of a similar value and taste profile is available for pick-up.

Inspecting Your Order Please inspect your order upon receipt and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged, or incorrect, so we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

Gift Cards & Event Tickets

  • Gift cards are non-refundable and non-exchangeable
  • Event ticket purchases are final; however, tickets may be transferred to another person as long as you notify us of the recipient in advance
