Heathcote, Victoria, Australia – 100% Shiraz
Lifted aromas of plum, dark cherry, and chocolate. The palate is rich and balanced, featuring a long, persistent finish with fruit sweetness complemented by fine mocha oak. Delicious with pairings include grilled lamb chops, barbecued ribs, roasted eggplant, or aged cheddar cheese. The fruit was selectively harvested, crushed to a small closed fermenter, and pumped over daily. The wine was then pressed and matured in 40% new and 60% older French oak barriques for 18 months prior to bottling. Reserve Range, including this Heathcote Shiraz, represents the pinnacle of the Trentham Estate winemaking efforts.
