Tuscany, Italy – 95% Merla grapes (local biotype of Canaiolo nero), 5% Massaretta)
Savoury aromas of leather, soil, espresso, and graphite meld with cherry and wild strawberry. On the palate, raspberries cascade, underscored by firm tannins and pointed acidity, providing structure to this sweet, light, floral wine. Its elegant, spicy profile pairs excellently with roasted meats, aged cheeses, and hearty pasta. Fermentation at low temperatures in concrete vats is followed by maceration with a submerged cap then 1 year of aging occurs in Slavonian oak casks, another 8 months of aging in glass.
