Óbidos, Portugal – Castelão, Aragonez, Touriga Nacional
Ripe red fruit lead the nose followed by notes of chocolate emerge from the barrel aging, layered with spice. Full-bodied and very smooth on the palate, with a light streak of acidity keeping it fresh underneath the richness. This would be great with roasted meats, cooked vegetables, or pasta — the acidity even makes it a surprisingly good match for fish dishes.
Grown on the three Sanguinhal family estates in the Demarcated Region of Óbidos.
