Fresh red fruit and violets jump from the glass, along with crushed flowers, wild plum and summer strawberries. Delicate yet structured, with fine, silky tannins and a lingering finish of savoury herbs and sour cherry. The grapes come from two vineyards on weathered granite, and the wine is fermented with wild yeasts and aged in neutral French barrels.
Lovely with lamb kebabs, venison burgers or roast meats. Its freshness also makes it a great match for spicy dishes like Thai food or a Cape Malay curry.
The name is Latin for “clarity.” Namibian-born viticulturist Lucinda Heyns gained experience in California, including at cult winery Screaming Eagle, before founding her label in 2015. In 2023 she left her research job to make wine full time, and the 2024 vintage was named the top wine in Winemag’s 2025 South African Pinotage Report.
