Calatayud, Aragón, Spain – 98% Garnacha (old-vine) 2% Local Varieties (Monastell, Provechon etc.)
Aromas of black plum, blueberry, and ripe cherry, almost jammy fruit kept fresh and succulent with thyme, a hint of menthol, and a balsamic, crushed-stone edge. The palate is vibrant and juicy, with a supple, melt-in-the-mouth "liquefied fruit" texture, ripe and fruity tannins, and lively acidity carrying a long finish. Built for the grill — barbecue and grilled meats of every kind, where it plays beautifully off the smoky char.
