Castilla-La Mancha, Spain — 100% Tempranillo
Aromas of red and black fruit, layered with soft touches of cocoa and vanilla from a short stint in barrel. The palate shows a really lovely, gentle maturity, with smooth, well integrated tannin, carrying through to a long, structured finish. The colour is deep and intense with a hint of blue fruit at the rim.
Perfect with grilled sausages, a burger with caramelized onions, or a simple roast chicken. This would also be great with aged manchego, and it's easy enough to pair with a mushroom risotto if you're keeping things vegetarian.
