On the palate, it is rich and generous, with chalky-textured, fine tannins and a seamless finish. Elderton Wines, a family-owned winery in the heart of Australia's Barossa Valley, was established in 1979 when the Ashmead family purchased vineyards first planted in 1894 by German settlers. Today, the second generation, brothers Cameron and Allister Ashmead, run the winery, emphasizing sustainability and producing wines that reflect the unique terroirs of their vineyards in Nuriootpa, Greenock, and Eden Valley.
