Sicily, Italy — 100% Chardonnay
Aromas of yellow peach, apricot and pineapple meld with a subtle nutty-hazelnut kernel note and a fine hint of vanilla from oak ageing. The palate is round yet lively, offering rich orchard fruit with a mineral thread that lifts the long finish. Beautiful with seared scallops in a lemon-butter sauce, roasted chicken with thyme and hazelnuts, a creamy mushroom risotto with parmesan, or goat cheese and pear tartlets for a refined hors d’oeuvre. Family-owned estate with high-altitude vineyards (~700-800 m a.s.l.) in the Piana degli Albanesi area near Palermo. Grapes are hand-harvested and undergo cold maceration, followed by fermentation and six months’ ageing in oak barriques and further bottle ageing.
