La Morra, Barolo DOCG, Piedmont, Italy – 100% Nebbiolo
Brilliant garnet-red, this Barolo exudes aromas of eucalyptus, liquorice, menthol, violet, and rich dark berries—plum and black cherry—with earthy underbrush and a hint of tar. The palate is powerful yet refined, showing dense dark fruit, firm fine-grained tannins, lively acidity, and a lingering finish with tobacco, licorice, and spice. Pair with game dishes (venison, wild boar), braised beef, truffle pasta, mature hard cheeses, or BBQ ribs. Serve at 16–18 °C, with decanting recommended to soften tannins and reveal aromatics.
Driven by 19 generations of family tradition, the Cordero di Montezemolo estate in La Morra farms organically. “Enrico VI” is their flagship Barolo, showcasing a bold, structured profile—honouring the estate’s rich heritage and single‑vineyard legacy.
Organic Nebbiolo grapes from the Villero cru are fermented separately and aged 18–24 months in French and Slovenian oak. Post‑blending, wines rest an additional year in bottle before release.
Drink from 2025–2045. Decant 1 hour before serving to allow nuanced flavours to unfurl.
