Médoc, Bordeaux - 50% Cabernet Sauvignon & 50% Merlot
As the second wine of Château Laujac, Château La Tour Cordouan benefits from the unique terroir of the Laujac estate, which spans 110 hectares. The estate's location near the Gironde and the Atlantic Ocean contributes to a microclimate that is exceptionally favourable for vine growth and grape maturation.
Aromas of ripe blackberry and rich red fruits blend beautifully with subtle notes of oak and a hint of toastiness. On the palate, a harmonious balance of firm tannins and acidity is presented, with a medium to full body. Layers of black fruit, particularly blackcurrant and plum, are complemented by undertones of earth and spice, leading to a smooth, lingering finish.
Pairing Suggestions: The wine's robust structure and complex flavours make it an ideal match for red meats like grilled steak or roast lamb. Also complementing hearty stews and rich, savoury dishes such as beef bourguignon, roasted chicken with crispy skin and herb seasoning or duck confit. For a vegetarian option, it pairs well with mushroom-based dishes or a hearty vegetable casserole. The versatility also allows it to be enjoyed with aged cheeses, adding depth to the overall dining experience.
