Rioja DOCa, Spain – 78% Tempranillo, 10% Garnacha Tinta, 12% Maturana Tinta
Aromas of red and black fruit mingle with licorice and sweet, spicy notes, all wrapped in soft toasty oak, fresh and inviting rather than heavy. The palate is balanced and smooth, with juicy red- and black-fruit flavour, gentle spice and well-knit tannins that give it just enough grip.
A natural match for patatas a la riojana — the classic chorizo-and-potato stew — or with grilled lamb, roast meats, and aged Manchego. Aged 14 months in American oak barrels followed by 24 months in bottle.
