Piedmont, Italy — 100% Nebbiolo
Aromas of fresh wild strawberry, raspberry, pomegranate and violet rise from the glass, layered with subtle spice and rose petal. On the palate the wine offers lively acidity, soft fine tannins and a mouth-watering thread of red-berry fruit and minerality. The finish is juicy, clean and quite long—this Nebbiolo invites a light chill and good company. Pair with grilled lamb with rosemary, mushroom risotto, mature pecorino with fig jam or even tuna tataki to highlight the wine’s fresh elegance. The family-run Elvio Cogno estate is in the Langhe hills (Novello) at around 420 metres elevation, the “Montegrilli” vineyard spans roughly 1.4 ha.
