Generous and rich with a core of ripe black plums and dark berry fruit from the Merlot, balanced by savoury, graphite-like lift and spice. Dry and slightly suede-textured, with fresh acidity and a sustained finish. Flavours of black cherry, wild herbs, subtle cedar and gentle tobacco weave through the palate. This wine shines with grilled lamb chops, braised short ribs, rosemary-roasted root vegetables, mushroom risotto, or firmer chèvre and aged Gouda.
