What is what?
LBV, these are vintage wines that have been aged between four to six years before being bottled. This extra aging is done in oak barrels. Aromas of ruby red fruits and black licorice notes. (These wines often have sediment)
Tawny with age indication, undergo a long period of oxidative aging in pipes (540L barrel) and are often topped up during maturation with wines from different vintage to create an average age that is indicated on the bottle. These wines tend to show more nutty characteristics & dried fruits.
Colheita, these are tawny ports are not topped up with other years, therefor, has a vintage. Aged in small oak barrels for at least 7 years. Showing ripe & dried fruit notes, vanilla, and spice.
